Outreach Committee Report

On March 29th and April 1st, our Outreach Committee, together with other 30th District Democrats and community members, gathered together to make sandwiches for 25 homeless men in Federal Way as part of the Reach Out program. It was our first project with this term’s leadership and it was a great success. All involved were happy to do a small part in making the lives of at least a few people a little easier. Those who dropped the sandwiches off at the shelter enjoyed being able to say, “We’re from the 30th District Democrats.” We hope to be able to say this many more times as we find more opportunities to serve our community and demonstrate our Democratic values.

Please accept our big “Thank You!” to all those who were involved in this project. Each participant gave their time, money and effort to add each needed part. We needed every one of you! The biggest thanks must go to Jim and Madeline Grayson and Joe and Mary Greene for opening up their homes for us to work in. It was not only a time of community service, but fellowship with fellow Democrats as well, an opportunity to get to know each other better. As our Outreach Committee tackles bigger and better projects we hope you will be willing to help us again! For those who weren”t available this time, please remember that a few people cannot do all that is needed alone — we need all of you to gain momentum!

South King County Dinner

The 30th and 33rd LD Democrats are reviving the South King County Dinner. The event will be held on June 11 — shortly after the close of the election filing period. The event will be held at theIBEW Local 46 Hall, 19802 62nd Ave. South in Kent.

The details are still being worked out, but dinner will consist of a Pasta Feed and a Sauce Contest. Other options under discussion for the event include either an auction or a silent auction, as well as a possible dessert auction. Contact Geof Richie, the 30th LD Coordinator for this event, for more information or to get involved.
